Post Processing Techniques

FDM

(Fused Deposition Modeling)

Layer lines are generally present on FDM prints making post processing an important step if a smooth surface is required. Some post processing methods can also add strength to prints helping to mitigate the anisotropic behavior of FDM parts. Read More -->

SLA

(Stereolithography)

Most SLA resins are one of the easiest 3D printed materials to post process. SLA resins allow for a range of finishing options with the most common of these described in this article. This includes support removal and reinforce the structure. Read More --->

ThinkRobotics PrintLAB Capabilities

Layer Height

Layer height is exactly what it sounds like: the exact height of each layer of plastic extruded, cured, or sintered by a 3D printer. We at ThinkRobotics PrintLAB are very easily able to achieve a layer height of 50 micros or 0.05 mm. We use only branded genuine printers to make sure consistent and fine print for every customer.

Line Thickness

The line width setting in 3D printing is simply how wide your nozzle extrudes each line of filament. So the lower the number, better it is. ThinkRobotics PrintLAB can print at line thickness of 0.25mm. We can print at even lower, if requested. Our printers go through maintenance every weekend to ensure fine prints.

Materials

Both FDM and SLA printers can print in multiple materials. ThinkRobotics PrintLAB can print in over 45 different materials. If you need any specific physical requirements, we can custom print parts according to your constrains. All our filament and resins are imported from the USA.

Post Processing

Both FDM and SLA printing will eventually lead to unintended defects in the prints. The best method to get rid of them is post process. ThinkRobotics PrintLAB offers multiple kinds of post processing services to ensure high quality prints.
