Part removal: Low temp materials (under 300°C):  When you’re extruding below 300ºC, generally you can remove the part as soon as the plate cools. With materials like PLA or PETG, it usually pops itself off the plate. If it sticks too much, you can apply water around the base of the part, which will help it release. Tech Tip for Using ABS on Glass:  ABS contracts very quickly when it cools; because of this, the risk of chipping, chunking, or breaking glass is higher with ABS. We recommend using Kapton Tape, PEI, or some other type of protective surface on top of glass and then applying this adhesive when printing ABS. High temp materials (over 300°C):  When you’re extruding over 300ºC, remove the part as quickly as possible. You want the buildplate and part to be HOT when you remove it.  We have seen many high-temp materials contract very quickly when cooling causing the glass to break in a very short period of time.

WHAT: Magigoo Pro-Flex is designed for professional use, to work exclusively with TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane), TPE (thermoplastic elastomer and TPC (thermoplastic copolyester) filaments. WHY: TPUs, TPEs/TPCs describe a group of polymers that are sometimes referred to as thermoplastic rubbers. Thermoplastic rubbers exist as co-polymers or a polymer blend, generally of a plastic and a rubber. This imparts both thermoplastic and elastomeric properties. As a result, these materials have the advantage of being able to stretch to moderate elongations and returning to the original shape. Additionally, these materials have very good thermal properties, material stability, chemical resistance, and are more cost-effective to produce. As a result, these materials are highly sought in industrial applications. Some flexible filaments show lower adhesion to conventional 3D-printing build surfaces and a high tendency to warp. Others tend to stick too well to bare 3D printing surfaces such as glass and PEI. Virgin PC has a high glass transition temperature (Tg) and thus can be used in high-temperature applications. However, having a high Tg can make it very difficult to print using desktop printers, as these are usually not equipped to cater to the high printing temperatures required to print virgin PC. Virgin PC in fact tends to warp considerably when printed at an insufficient bed temperature (<130 ºC), in non-heated enclosed chambers without the use of an appropriate bed adhesive. Magigoo Pro PC can be used on glass or a multitude of other surfaces. Use on other plastic-based surfaces, including sheets is recommended to provide strong adhesion and preventing the part from fusing to the sheet.
